| The modern laminate has come a long way from the 30mm. of the past. Available in a vast array of designs and finishes, you are guarenteed to find a laminated worktop to suit your look. Due to the fact that the laminate is on a chipboard core it makes the possibilities more limited than a solid surface but can still give a really individual effect. Several of our displays are fitted with laminated worktops for you to view. |
| | Granite is one of the hardest work surfaces available and used in any kitchen will give a luxurious and stunning effect. It is now available in an array of finishes including polished and honed and can be manufactured to produce some dramatic effects including upstands, back splashes and undermounted sinks. As it is a natural material every slab has characteristic flaws and markings making your work surface truly individual. Granite is available to view on display in our showroom. |

| Quartz is available under several names and is, in basic terms, a manufactured granite comprising of mainly natural stone quartz mixed with polymers. It's outcome is a mesmerizing surface available in a stunning wide range of colours that do not exist in natural stone. It is machined exactly like granite but does not have any of nature's flaws, it is also stain and scratch resistant. Using a solid surface means that you can be more versatile with your appliances, enabling you to flush-mount hobs and undermount sinks. |

| In our opinion the "greenist" of all the work surfaces available, obviously maintained from a renewable source. It is quite limited in it's use, although you can undermount sinks, and requires regular maintenance in the form of sanding and oiling. Care and common sense must be applied when working with these surface as they do mark and burn easily, especially if not maintained. Solid wood worktops are available in several different hard woods and are a beautiful addition to any kitchen. "Iroko" soild wood worktops are on display in our showroom. |
| | Perhaps more commonly associated with commercial kitchens due to it's non porous, hygienic surface, stainless steel worktops can give a very striking, modern look to your kitchen. Made out of sheet stainless steel applied to a sub structure, the joins can be welded then polished to give a seam free look. Sinks can also be undermounted and back splashes made but it is not possible to flush mount with this material. Like all stainless steel the finished article will show finger marks and scratch but it just seems to add to the beauty of this under-used surface material. We have stainless steel worktops displayed in our showroom. |
